still not refined but something finally clicked for me today.
people always talk about lots of stuff when it comes to form, and I never really got it. It never really stuck until today, and sometimes banging your head a million times is the only way to get it going.
Using simple value relationships, with a simplified value set (four or five values) really helps determine the value of a local shape, and how to compare it with another shape region.
i always struggled with form and i think creating a value hierarchy when i work will help immensely. art school stuff, but sometimes it just take time to get.
in short...
VALUE = FORM MAFACKAS!
hopefully this helps with my life drawing as well.
